I ran a half marathon and high fived every kid cheering at the race and any adult who was offering them. It was the B.A.A. Half. I ended up being given a couple of acorns by one of the little boys early in the race. I carried them with me the entire race and brought them home.
Counterpoint: I chose the routes without the dogs. “He just likes you,” as the dog jumps on and scratches me, or BITES my run partner or knocks over my child. Regular occurrence in my life. So thank you to dog owners who train their dogs and leash them in public! (It’s not the dog, it’s the owner)
