Frayed and Frazzled

I don’t need to remind you what’s happening on Tuesday. I’m just glad it will be OVER. I don’t know about you guys, but my nerves are frayed and my brain is frazzled. I have been throwing myself into volunteer work, because that level of busy distracts me so completely I can forget what day it is.

Each and every day, I choose peace. This isn’t a natural thing for me! The pandemic taught me what I needed in order to feel whole, and in some ways my life got very small. As things shifted back towards normalcy, give resisted making my life bigger. I’m super protective of what I add in, of the things I say “yes” to, of the responsibilities I take on, of the people I let into my space and into my brain.

One thing I keep coming back to, is how lucky I am to have this supportive community. No matter how small my life becomes, I don’t feel whole without running, or without you guys.

October was hard, so I’m making sure November is nourishing. At the end of the month I’m going to Egypt for the first time in my life, for a friend’s wedding on the Red Sea! When I come back I am having a long overdue surgery. It feels like a chapter closed, a hard reset. I’m looking forward to it!!

Between now and then I will continue to choose peace. I will continue to choose nourishment, to carefully choose the things that serve me. I hope you will do the same!
