Taylor Swift is releasing a new album on Friday night. My household is more than a little excited! You may have heard, it’s called the life of a showgirl. My deep thoughts this month are about how Runners are actually all about that showgirl life!

We keep odd hours- up before the sun down before the moon. We really really, really like reflective clothing and neon colors and chunky shoes. We train and train and train and train relentlessly day after day. And few things can excite us like a well executed performance!

Not to mention, if you don’t buy the race photo and post it to Facebook were you even really there?

2025 is a literal struggle bus and most Runners I know, heck most races I know!, Are on that struggle bus. if another winter is passing without a race for you, please don’t make that about you. It’s just about where we’re at right now.

Whether you’re suited and booted, ready or not, the show must go on. Unlike showgirl, we are in control of when that show begins. And I know mine won’t be starting anytime soon!

This Month’s Workouts

Rebuilders will have a steady run with high knees instead of strides. These will help your legs remember that quick turnover of running, strengthen your hip flexors, and get you back in the saddle!

Maintainers will have two fun runs: a short tempo run and a fartlek run.
